Health Resources
Resources shown here have proven useful to me in providing alternative views on certain subjects or providing access to tools I and others have needed to address specific health issues. Please remember to do your own cross-checking of each source, and consult a trusted health professional before implementing any new regimen.

Information Sources
Life Extension Foundation
This is almost always my first stop for reliable, credible information about alternative (and sometimes even maintream) solutions. I have followed this organization since the 1960s. Their board consists of numerous well-respected MDs and PhDs. They conduct their own research and provide meta-analyses of existing research to determine truths often buried by politicians or pharmaceutical giants. I trust the supplements offered by lef.org to be of high quality and formulated for optimal benefit. They also offer a selection of tests you can order and perform on your own, without a doctor's request. These include blood tests (you go to a local lab for the blood draw), and tests you can perform at home and mail samples back to the lab. (You should always give your healthcare team copies of any test results for their records.) |
Dr. Joseph Mercola
Dr. Mercola may at times get carried away in his enthusiasm. But I like to use his site as a place to start when researching the broader aspects of alternative therapies. If nothing else, his articles provide fodder for further research, allowing me to cross-check claims being made about a given solution. |

ZRT Labs - Home Testing Kits
ZRT Labs may have been the first to offer hormone testing at home via saliva. Dr. Zava was an innovator in this field and has conducted research into the benefits of using saliva (rather than blood) to measure free (unbound) hormones. Today, ZRT labs offer a wide variety of tests. NOTE: You may also be able to find ZRT hormone test kits online from other vendors at discounted prices. |
